DESCRIPTION:The Arkansas Saxophone Symposium\n3/5/2015 – 3/7/2015 \nThe University of Arkansas\, Department of Music will be the host for a three day symposium for collegiate and high school saxophonists. The Mana Saxophone Quartet will be in residence for the event. All activities are free and open to the public. Events for the symposium will include: \n~Thursday\, March 5th\, 11:00 am in the Billingsley Music Building – “Composing for the Saxophone Quartet”. The Mana Quartet will visit with composers about writing for the saxophone quartet. \n~Thursday\, March 5th\, 7:30 pm in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall – Mana Saxophone Quartet Recital. \n~Friday\, March 6th\, 9 am until 5 pm – Performances by Arkansas Saxophonists and Quartets. The Mana Quartet will give masterclasses for collegiate quartets during the day’s activities. \n~Saturday\, March 7th\, 9 am until 4 pm – Clinics and Performances for High School Students.
